ABOUT ANNA …
Originally from Eugene, Oregon, Anna is a New-York based actor, + funny lady, word-enthusiast, and musician (vocals & viola with Liz Kelly and the Better Half, now on iTunes). After 10+ years in NYC Anna is almost a ‘real’ New Yorker, but she is equally at home hiking in the rain, and is an experienced off-trail backpacker and world-traveler.
Anna starred in the hit Off-Broadway multi-year original run of PUFFS at New World Stages, honing her comedy chops while understudying 6 tracks (!) in the original cast and performing regularly as swing before moving into the lead track of Hannah & Others. Performing in this internationally-beloved show was a joy.
Funny, down-to-earth, and strong, Anna is also a skilled dramatic actor. She equally comfortable with comedy and drama, and seeks out a delightful and/or dark mixture of both. She was once referred to as “an American Phoebe-Waller-Bridge” — which she will TAKE — though she might be closer to a more-homespun Carey Mulligan: classic with an edge. Her bullseye characters are fearless & whip-smart women who jump in when the going’s tough, while her voice and classic vibe lend themselves easily to period-pieces: the 1680’s, the 1980’s, and everything in between.
A former member of The Flea, Anna earned her BFA from Whitman College, and is an alum of the two year training program Maggie Flanigan Studio (Meisner, NYC). She also studies at Terry Knickerbocker Studio in Brooklyn, and coaches on-camera with Devin Shacket (New York Drama Center) and Victor Villar-Hauser (Open City Acting, LA). She is currently seeking representation across the board.
Anna is passionate about good food, nature, and BBC murder-mysteries. And the next adventure. “It could be fun…”.
